“Wild hearts find a home in every place they roam.”
My life flipped upside down in July of 2023.
Everything comfortable I had ever known was now no longer.
So, I decided to cope with traveling- visiting family and friends.
And it was the best decision I could have made for myself.
It really solidified my desire to be a traveling photographer.
My family on my biological dad’s side gets together every fall for “Wood Camp”.
There’s enough food to feed an army for a week, and even more beer (hehe).
We laughed until our bellies ached and told stories long into the night. Drank Folger’s coffee and watched the birds through the windows in the morning. Put our blood, sweat and tears into cutting down trees, hauling them around with tractors with homemade cup holders because you can’t drive a tractor without a beer. Chopping, stacking, and giggling all day long!
And a lot of praying.
A lot of healing.
A lot of talks with God and about God.
He reminded me, in many ways, how loved I was.
How important family is.
How important relationships are.
Especially with Him.
I feel like I can tie that into photography. My love and passion for life, for family, for relationships, for connection- they are the roots for my W H Y.
So, with that…
I encourage you to just take the photo. It doesn’t have to be a fancy camera, just whip that handy dandy iphone out of your pocket and use that.
But when you see something that makes you smile, makes you laugh, maybe makes you cry, or maybe it really brings you down to earth and grounds you- take a picture of it.
That is exactly what I did on this trip to Minnesota.
If you happen to be in Minnesota, I am looking for any and every reason to travel back there so send me an email or a message on Instagram and let’s plan something! Tell your friends and family too 🙂
I just read this today and teared up.
You ROCK!!
We are going to have so much fun and make so many memories!!
I love you Nicole.
