Once upon a time…
Three photographers and their 3 month old assistant, Alice June Darling, traveled to Washington for a wedding in Sedro Wolley.
They stayed at a very cute condo by the ocean in Birch Bay, about an hour away from Sedro Wolley. The town was small and charming. They ate dinner at CJ’s Beach House, took many walks down by the water, and laughed until their bellies ached.
The day before the wedding, they met up with the cutest couple in Blaine, Washington. River and Luna have been in love since 8th grade. They strolled along the beach, ran in the road, laid on driftwood and loved each other while the photographers aww’d and ooo’d and documented this little sliver of their love story.
It was then time to go check out the wedding venue.
The drive to Sedro Wolley was one these photogs will never forget- windy roads, ancient trees, check engine lights, cows and corn. They saw it all.
The wedding venue was the groom’s grandparents’ property. It was cozy and filled with so many memories. From old barns to the old house at the beginning of the driveway, you could tell this place held stories in every nook and cranny.
After walking through everything with the bride and groom, the photogs and Alice June Darling started their trek back to Birch Bay.
On the way, they stopped by Roozengaarde- a dahlia flower farm. They couldn’t get enough of all the beautiful flowers and the warm afternoon sunshine on their faces. They all took turns taking photos of each other, strolling through the fields of flowers, laying in the grass with little Alice- let’s say it was a core memory for every one.
For dinner, they stopped at Aslan Brewing in Bellingham, where they drank some brews and ate some apps while sitting outside enjoying the last little bit of the evening sunshine.
The following day was the wedding day!
Only one of the photographers packed her gear up, ready for the big day ahead. While the other two made a plan to check out some abandoned asylums and a flower field or two.
It was a hot September day, when the photographer arrived at the venue.
Everyone was running laps trying to get the last finishing touches up and ready!
The bride and her bridesmaids were tucked back into an old barn with the best natural light. They all shared mimosas and chatted about the days leading up to today.
When it was time for the first look, there was not a dry eye to be seen. Even the photographer was crying!
Then, the ceremony…
It was beautiful, filled with smiles, tears, laughter and so so sooo much love.
The fun continued afterwards, where the photographer took the bride and groom out into the field to catch the beautiful Washington golden hour. They danced, kissed, strolled, chased each other, and soaked up these moments alone.
It was a perfect day for a wedding in Sedro Wolley Washington.
The following day, the three photographers and sweet Alice woke up early to catch low tide.
The final day was bittersweet. None of them wanted to leave. But they all agreed they would be back to explore more beaches, more towns, more abandoned homes, and travel down more windy roads.
